How To Train your Dragon: Hiccup

Description

Whoo! I brought Hiccup to a con!
I made it about 2 and a half years ago for the Kansas City Ren fair, but at the time I was using a recycled wig that I wasn't very happy with. XD
I recently got a Hansel from Arda, and I decided to bring the costume to C2E2 on Sunday because it was "kids day." :3
I met a lovely photographer that nabbed some cute shots, so thanks to her I have photos of it to share with you guys! I like this one especially for the framing and because you can get a good look at the textures. :D

So yeah, first photo, so that means costume construction notes!:

The wig is a Hansel in Spanish Brown 050 From Arda Wigs. I only trimmed a few areas around the ears where it was needed most.

I don't remember which patterns I used as a reference for the shirt and vest, but both are made from fabrics I found at JoAnn's. The Brown fur is usually available all-year round in larger stores or at least while they have Halloween fabrics. I also used the brown fur for tubes that go around the top of my boots. The shirt is made out of a green linen-look suiting fabric (depending on the JoAnn's store, it'll be either in the linen-look solids or in the suiting fabrics section. Unless it's a seasonal suiting or discontinued). The pants were from Goodwill, and the boots were from my closet.

I got a roll of leather cord at Hobby Lobby for the lacing on the tunic and pants, and I used eyelets because I didn't want it to fray (I know, vikings probably don't care, but that fabric can get messy so I didn't want to risk it! XD). There is also leather cord top-stitched down around the sleeves.

The belt is made out of faux suede-cloth with craft foam on the inside to act as an interfacing, and it snaps in the back.
