We made a spontaneous decision to go to Rhode Island for the YGO YCS. We felt it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet so many members of the YGO cast, including Dan Green.

I hadn't been planning to style a new Yami Yugi wig until sometime next year, but I chose to get it done sooner so I could be Yami again for the occasion. XD
I used images of a Yami Yugi statue for the reference this time around: [link]

I want to experiment with some watered down acrylics to add a gradient and make the red spikes lighter in color; I just didn't have time to do it before the YCS. I also plan to style an "accurate" Joey wig for :iconex-shadow: in the next few days (other thing I didn't have enough time to do, lol).

I figured I'd at least post this as a preview though, since I'm not sure if we'll have an opportunity to get good photos when we wear them to Youmacon or AnimeUSA. (We'll be working at the Arda booth at both of those)

The base was a Malinda from Arda-wigs.com (hur hur ironic) in Maroon 018. I didn't have enough time to ask my boss to order the style in Apple Red, but hopefully the painting thing I want to do will make it look 20% cooler.
I also used short wefts in Black 064 and Light Blonde 013 for the front. I first made the shapes of the spikes out of stiff felt, and glued/sprayed the wig's hair over them. I then filled in the gaps with the wefts, and glued black wefts to the front. The blonde wefts were glued/sprayed to stiff felt before gluing them to the wig. I took several progress photos, but I'm waiting to put the tutorial together until after the wig is officially done.

First photo: Kyle and I with Dan Green (Yugi, Yami Yugi, and Trudge) and Mike Pollock (Arthur Hawkins and Professor Bonaparte).
Second photo: Kyle and I with Darren Dunsten (Pegasus and the director of 5D's and Zexal) and Wayne Grayson (Joey, Syrus, Dartz, and Bolt Tanner)
Third photo: Kyle, Slifer, and I with Ted Lewis (Jack, Bakura, Keith, Alister, Chumley), Erica Schroeder (Aki, Mai, and Mana), and Greg Abbey (Yusei and Tristan)

I recorded the Q and A panel, which you can watch here: [link]

Don't forget Erica plays Cathy Catherine in ZEXAL and Wayne plays Nelson Andrews in ZEXAL as well.

This wig is fantastic! Could you please put a tutorial up of how you made this? My friend and I wanna cosplay as Yami Yugi and Yugi but the thing that is holding us back is the wig.

Best Yugi Wig I've ever seen. Thinking of doing King Atem? That would look awesome!

I love Dan Green and Greg Abbey. They voiced the best Main Protagonists of the 4 series.
