Phoenix Wright Wig Tutorial by Malindachan Phoenix Wright Wig Tutorial by Malindachan
Hey all! Uploading this by popular request, though a lot of it is the same processes I've used in other tutorials. So check these out too!
Yusei Fudo Wig tutorial v2 by Malindachan  Yami Yugi Wig Tutorial by Malindachan  Wig Hairline Tutorial by Malindachan

And this is the video tutorial for hairlines: www.youtube.com/watch?v=KawyKs…

If you have any questions please email me (my Arda email address is at the bottom of the tutorial). I don't get on DA very often, so if you ask in a comment here I might not see it for a long time.

Some Tutorial FAQs:

"Can you do a tutorial for ___(insert character wig I've already styled before)___?"
-It depends on if I took progress photos while I did it. Sometimes I don't because I'm either in a rush or already made a tutorial that used the same techniques. I recommend checking my tutorial folder here or the tutorial tab on the Arda Wigs page for a large variety of tutorials that should hopefully provide some inspiration! Even if a tutorial is for a specific character, the techniques used can be applied to other characters as well.

"Can you do a tutorial for __(insert character wig I haven't styled before)__?"
-I don't do specific character requests, though if there's a type of technique that you haven't seen a tutorial for, feel free to suggest it on my work's Tutorial Suggestion forum: kingdom-arts.org/viewtopic.php…\

Is there a way to achieve this look without using glue? I'm working on a phoenix wright Ball Jointed Doll and I'd prefer not to use glue since it can destroy the scalp. Can this be achieved?

I've re-read and looked at your other tutorials, but I'm having trouble with just initially cutting and making the foam spikes for the wig. I'm not very good with wigs at all and usually just make large props for costumes, but never anything like helmets and such, so I'm really having difficulty with how to go about making them. The rest of your tutorial is very detailed and I know I can move forward afterwards, so it's just this initial area I'm having trouble with.

I'm doing a Johnny Smiles (from PL vs AA) cosplay this year and a Phoenix cosplay next year. This is super helpful! Thank you so much for sharing this!

So um most of the hair is still tucked under the foam? Or is it that most of it is taken off to stick onto the foam pieces? O.O

I untucked as much as I could around each spike first before gluing the hair to the felt.

What brand of tacky glue do you use? I used Aleenes, and the glue left white streaks/residue on the wig hair after it dried.

I used Aleenes (just the regular type in the gold bottle). You don't want to handle the areas with the glue once it's started drying. I'd probably have to see what it looks like before providing additional advice, but sometimes a little bit of water can do the trick.

quick question, would regular white glue work just as well as fabric glue on the wefts?

I know of other stylists that use regular white glue, though I hadn't tried it myself yet since the tacky glue works pretty well for me

You can use craft foam, but I use a stiffened felt called EZ felt. You can usually find it in craft stores next to the regular soft felt sheets (and not far from the sheets of craft foam). From my experience I've found it at JoAnn's Superstores and Hobby Lobby.

Okay, thank you for that. You totally just allowed me to understand how people make wigs to match impossible anime hair. I could never figure that out....
