Shonen Jump Feature

During the earlier part of this last summer, Shonen Jump posted an opportunity on their website for people to submit different kinds of fan works (besides traditional fan art) for a special "Superfan Celebration" issue. [link]

encouraged me to submit some of my YGO cosplay photos, and I got featured! :3
Originally I think they were just going to use one of my Haou photos, but instead they chose to use the protagonist photos so they could also include the oil painting I did (which was something I had done in the past for the YGO 10th anniversary fan art contest). I ended up getting half a page in full color, but what made this even more special for me is that they included an extra note. It wasn't something I was expecting, and I was very flattered that they liked my work so much.

Shonen Jump is actually going to stop printing sometime early next year and going completely digital (March will be last on paper). This is good because they'll be able to release chapters of their licensed manga online a lot faster (really close to the original Japan releases), but this also means they won't have any more opportunities like this where you can have a physical copy of your published work. I'm glad I was able to participate in something like this before they stopped printing.
