Description

This cosplay was a battle for me. At first it was more of a joke when I had mentioned possibly doing it (since it was already decided that Kyle and Andy were wanting to be Kamina and Simon....and I'm possessive over my Kamina dangit!), but with lots of nudging and support, I went ahead and set it in stone. It's not that I don't like the character (I love Yoko! she's so kickass!), but the fact that I'd be showing so much skin wasn't really something I wanted to do.

I know there are a few things in this cosplay that are not exactly the most accurate *cough*jubbilies*cough* , but I don't really care (so please don't point them out).

I used two wigs (one for the base, another for the ponytail). For the ponytail, I use a paper mache egg that I got at the craft store, and sealed it into the longer wig before sewing it to the shorter wig. The shorter wig was cut and styled first, and instead of pulling the hair up and stubbing it, I just pulled it into a low ponytail (the tail and hair tie are actually covered in the back by the neck warmer thingy). The wig itself is SO back-heavy because of the ponytail, and I had to try a lot of things to get it to stay on. The one thing that worked out great was the flexible comb I sewed into the front of it. It's the main thing that keeps it on my head XD

The rifle was made primarily from PVC, cardboard, and craft foam (and a LOT of hot glue). It took more hours to make the gun than the the rest of the outfit combined. It's collapsible for easy travel.

The bikini top and neck warmer were made from scratch without any patterns. I did use a pattern for the shorts, but I had to make several alterations (and I decided to make them longer so my butt wouldn't be hanging out lol. I'd like to keep some of my modesty, thank you).

The belt was from goodwill, but I had to put white fabric over it and stud it myself.

I made the gloves myself. It saved a lot of money XD

The boot covers were made from scratch, and they were made to cover my boots completely. They're actually supposed to be a little shorter and wider at the top, but I was lazy and didn't really care (and it saved money lol). The zippers arn't supposed to go under the shoe either, but I did it so I could actually take the covers off (don't want to rip the vinyl).

The zipper pulls and hair clip were made from thick craft foam.

The bracelets are constructed from craft foam, and the yellow "studs" on them are made from sculpey clay.

The hair sticks are painted chopsticks

The glasses were bought online. Horray Amazon.com!

For the thigh-high socks, I couldn't find what I was looking for originally (I couldn't even find stretchy pink fabric in the right color), so I took a pair of white knee-highs, dyed them pink, cut off the top and hemmed them (they originally had stripes on them), and cut open the toe and pulled them up. They are more like a tube of sock now, but they go down far enough to where the boots hide the bottom of them.

Long Artist's comments box is long! XD
